The Saul Louis Community School is named after Saul Louis, a farmer and long time member of the mountainside community who although was illiterate, desired to see that all the children in the community have access to an education in a safe environment.

    Student, 1,765 girls and 1,521 boys, served since the creation of the Saul Louis Community School.

  • 1-hour walk

    Before the Saul Louis Community School, the children would have to walk over an hour through rough terrain or face very vulnerable conditions by attending school alone in the city. With the school now in their mountainside community, the walk takes only a few minutes.
